Third Sunday of Advent: The Path of Faith

In this episode, the Three Kings arrive at the imposing palace of Herod, the tyrant and oppressor who sought to impose his power and claim the title of "King of the Jews," a title granted by the Roman Empire. However, the kings are not seeking the earthly king, but the true King of the Jews, the one announced in the Scriptures.

The arrival of the kings in Jerusalem causes a great stir, and the entire city learns they have come in search of another king, which threatens Herod’s power. Despite the danger and threat, the kings remain firm in their faith in the Holy Scriptures they know, fully trusting that God is guiding them to the true King, the Prince of Peace, who is destined to be offered as the lambs in the Temple, bringing hope to our lives, and whose death and sacrifice are symbolized by Myrrh.

This episode invites us to reflect on how, amidst threats and difficulties, faith and certainty in God’s promises strengthen us to continue on our journey in search of the true light.
