Fourth Sunday of Advent: The Light of Glory

In this chapter, the Three Kings continue their journey, once again guided by the star that leads them to the true King. After speaking with Herod, who, enraged by the threat to his power, orders the massacre of the innocents, the kings move further into the darkness but are certain that they are being guided by a divine purpose.

Their path takes them past the tomb of Rachel, a place filled with mourning, where the story of pain and sadness resonates in their hearts. However, in the midst of mourning, they discover how the glory of God becomes present, transforming darkness into light and giving them new hope. Finally, the kings arrive at the field of the shepherds, humble and rejected people who have now been chosen by God to be witnesses of divine glory, a glory that shines as brightly as the gold that, like the modern kings, we will offer to the Savior. The shepherds, just like the kings, are called to be bearers of hope, messengers of the Gospel, and witnesses to the true light that has come into the world.

Just as the kings and the shepherds did, we are invited to become aware of the divine presence in our lives and be willing to follow the light that guides us, sharing the joy of Christ’s birth with others.
