31. Ancient Corinth

Walk through the ancient city of Corinth, where Paul preached and established a thriving Christian community, later addressing them in his letters filled with guidance, correction, and encouragement. The towering Temple of Apollo stands as a reminder of Corinth’s deep ties to Greco-Roman religion and culture, illustrating the challenges Paul faced in bringing the Gospel to a city known for its wealth and moral struggles. Amid these grand ruins, we reflect on the contrast between worldly wisdom and the transformative power of Christ.
At the Bema Seat, we stand where Paul was brought before the local tribunal (Acts 18:12-17), a pivotal moment that affirmed his mission and allowed him to continue spreading the Gospel. This site represents the courage required to witness to the faith, even in the face of opposition. Paul’s letters to the Corinthians still resonate today, calling us to unity, holiness, and the supremacy of love in our Christian journey.
