36. Putioli & Three Taverns
As Paul neared the end of his long journey to Rome, he first set foot in Puteoli (modern-day Pozzuoli), where he was warmly welcomed by the local Christian community (Acts 28:13-14). This bustling port city, a gateway to the heart of the empire, symbolized the spread of the Gospel into the very center of Roman power. Further along the Appian Way, at Three Taverns, Paul encountered fellow believers who came to greet and encourage him on his final stretch to Rome (Acts 28:15). These moments highlight the strength of Christian fraternity and the unwavering mission of Paul, who, despite being a prisoner, continued to inspire and unite the faithful as he approached the city where he would bear his final witness.
